RFP – Balcerzak Drive Pedestrian Crossing Study

The Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit responses from qualified firms interested in services described in the proposal for the purposes of producing a comprehensive Balcerzak Drive Pedestrian Connectivity Study in the City of Mankato. The firm selected must have experience and expertise in multimodal transportation planning, including (but not limited to) project management, public engagement, data collection and analysis, financial resources, project implementation, and a clear understanding of the MPO planning process and federal and state requirements.

Project description

This project is intended to provide planning-level alternatives to improve walkability and connectivity while eliminating accessibility barriers and ensuring Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. Currently, there is a safety concern to pedestrians crossing Balcerzak Drive. Study will evaluate alternatives for pedestrian connections and crossing options. Key deliverables include data collection, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and alternative evaluation. Total Project Cost (est.): $20,000. Anticipated completion: December 2023.
