Public Participation Plan Update

Provide input about the MAPO’s draft Public Participation Plan, which provides a framework for public involvement in area short-and long-range transportation planning. The Public Comment period for the Public Participation Plan will run from September 11, 2018, to November 2, 2018.

New practices and tools for public engagement are defined within the Update, including implementation of a MAPO Twitter account, addition of a Public Participation section to the MAPO website, addition of opportunity for public comment as a consistent agenda item at MAPO TAC and Policy Board meetings, addition of federally-recognized Native American tribal interests as a transportation stakeholder group, and expansion of MAPO stakeholders email list. At the suggestion of FHWA, the updated PPP also includes a section on measurement of public engagement effectiveness.

The MAPO’s draft Public Participation Plan is available online here or in person at the Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza, in Mankato. Submit comments through any of the below venues before the deadline of November 2, 2018.
