MAPO, in partnership with the City of North Mankato, will be hosting a live in-person Open House to collect public input on the ongoing Highway 14 Pedestrian Bridge Study. The Open House will be held on Monday, September 13, 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. The Open House will be held at North Mankato Fire Station 2, 1825 Howard Dr W, North Mankato, MN 56003.

The Highway 14 Pedestrian Bridge Study is intended to evaluate the feasibility and identify desired locations for a pedestrian bridge over Highway 14 between Lookout Drive and Lor Ray Drive in North Mankato. The potential bridge is envisioned to provide a safe connection with destinations such as Caswell Park, Benson Park and Dakota Meadows Middle School to Commerce Drive including a connection to an existing area trail system.

Public feedback collected during the Open House will help confirm the issues and opportunities for improvement, as well as elicit public opinion on a potential pedestrian bridge over Highway 14. During the meeting, attendees will discuss an overview of the study process, review key findings, and ask questions and provide feedback to project staff.

Members of the public who cannot attend the open house are encouraged to provide feedback through any of the below methods by Tuesday, September 21:

  • Provide input online: www.mnmapo.org/contact
  • Email: candrosky@mankatomn.gov
